ComedyCentral wrote I've had -£90 in an old paypal for 1year and about 3-5months now. Sold a half broken xb1 for that price, he charged back saying it was broken. Stupidly enough paypal didn't think I did put broken in the title.

I've never been contacted to pay it off. I've never given them ssn, photo id, any sort of id, nor my real address and theres no credit/bank/debit cards in there either. I'm fine, never been forced or had any calls.

That is good to know because I currently have -67$ in my paypal account

You can't get forced to pay the amount owed. It's close to impossible as you don't owe them money as it was never there money in the first place.

Yeah true, I didn't read the entire thread post so I got it wrong... but yes.. if it was never PayPal's own money then you should be fine. No need to pay anyting.

Correct. It can't be paypal's money as they are acting as of a middleman passing through items. It works the same as a proxy. But with items and money

So I can just leave it? Thanks guys!

You have two options

Leaving it
1. If you leave it, you will not be able to put the same credit/debit/bank account on any other paypal account until closure of the account with negative balance (which will be never as it's evidence for paypals claims)
2. You will have to get a new ebay account. Ebay and PayPal used to be partners but no they just associate to block out scammers across. PayPal see you as a con artist as you 'owe' them money which you haven't paid so they may tell ebay about it.
3. You may get some calls from the paypal number, if you wish to not pay the money back you can just say ''I do not own a paypal account'' and they will be forced to shut down the account because a phone number is required in the setup of any account on their website.

Paying it back
1. You'll have full access to that account
2. Any cards on the account won't be automatically charged.
3. You will have full access to your account
4. You don't have to change your ebay account
5. (SERIOUS) PayPal will put you on a 'high claims' list which is their name for 'Keep an eye on these *****' as they see you as suspiciously acting. This will mean that they will monitor your account and if they find you doing anything wrong they will limit your account until you give such a reason.

I've listed more negatives than positives.

Xell_Simplicity wrote If you can't close the account and doesn't want to put money back into that account, I'll suggest you sign back into it and change the email and phone number linked to the paypal account to a Temporary, Disposable Fake e Mail Service and Contact Phone Number to avoid spam and tracking.

Fake Mail: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Fake Number: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

and now everyone can stop spamming this thread, he already got his answers and more...

Paypal have blocked those websites.
You can't change any information or close the account if the account owes money.

You have 3years, they will then close the account since it's taking up space and by then you'd have no intentions to pay them anything.
