I think a DDD monogram look will always present
difficulties in executing. The design you have done
isn't all that bad to be honest. Might have something
to do with the greyscale palette (I dearly love so
much lol).

The orbs coming out from the design work pretty well
too so all in all it's a fairly decent design.

I must say to finish off, work more on crisper curves
and edges.

the font under the logo isn't great. Go for something more geometric, especially with the logo design you have created. I almost always reccomend a sans serif font. Make sure the kerning is proper as well, typography can make or break a logo design. The concept is alright, not the greatest but as said, a monogram with 3 "D"s in it is obviously not the simplest task. I'd try checking if your client is open to other ideas if possible, and submit some of your own outside of the type/monogram logo.
