Malware Bytes has a nice free Anti Virus
I usually run it once and a while to make sure i'm clean.

I'm running Avast as my anti-virus. Pretty decent one plus you just enable Gaming/Silent mode and it's not going to disturb you at all.
I run Malwarebytes every so often as an additional scan.
The main anti-virus is just common sense. Don't click dodgy things and you're fine.

Avast or AVG Norton is shit, all my experiences with it have ultimately lead to my PC running slightly slower which isn't acceptable.

Honestly malware bytes is the way to go, no doubt. It's free and in my opinion it's better than some of the paid stuff out there

I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials for the past 4 years and I haven't had a single problem. It updates every 2-3 days so I know I am getting the most up-to-date service. Very highly recommended.
Whichever you decide to use, I recommend going to [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and clicking the program you wish to install. This will skip all the crap about installing addons and browser task bars. Very simple.
