I'm wanting to sell my iPod to one of my friends at school, but first I want to delete EVERYTHING. All data. All data on apps, internet, everything.

cant you do a factory restore on it? like a iphone

Do what Rodent said either plug it into your pc, connect to itunes and reset to factory settings

or go to settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings

tbh i dont really know what happens with that 2nd method so you are better off resetting to factory defaults through itunes

Here are some things you need to do before selling it:

1. Update and Restore your device, make sure its on the latest iOS (currently thats iOS 9.2.1)

2. In settings, sign out of iCloud and iTunes/Appstore

3. Clean it (dont want to give them a nasty looking device lol)

(Just to add TTG now looks terrible. Bulky)
