I have recently purchased a Razer Blade Stealth. The laptop is pretty dope IMO. The main reason I bought it is because it has the ability to attach to a eGPU (external gfx card).

When that option becomes available I plan to buy the housing for the card ( called Razer Core). The thing that I'm having an issue with is what graphics card I should use with it.

I was thinking about buying a 960 or a 970. I'm trying to figure out which one would be more cost effective. I currently have a 970 in my main desktop, so anything really demanding will be played on that. The other reason i'm considering a 970 is because I could always SLI it in my desktop when the Core isn't being used, but I don't want to spend the extra cash to get a bottle neck.

Assuming your Stealth has the Intel Core i7 I see when I look at it on the product page, then either one of those external graphics cards should be fine and run well with it.

Depending on whether or not your current desktop you want to SLI in can handle SLI is the deciding factor really. If your motherboard and CPU are up to par to handle it then I'd go with the GTX 970 because then you're getting a two for one out of it.

Otherwise a GTX 960 will handle most games you'd be playing on a laptop perfectly fine.
