I've never even played it, I bought it but never actually sat down to play it. It was collecting dust the whole time, I'll buy it again just because its cheap and then try actually playing the game since I hear it's fun.

Same issue. IGN claims that you will get banned if you play the game, but I doubt that would happen. They added this false update so that people couldn't play it anymore.

Doubt you'll get banned, it's not a pirated game it's a mistake by Microsoft.
But who knows.
