Here's my original post from the Forums.

I was playing a Heist on GTA V today and some 13 year old didn't join our party and kept dying and causing us to fail. Being the typical rager, I messaged him about his poor behavior. He denied it, as expected, and he got his salty 17 year old friend to "speak" to me. Now he didn't reason things in a rational way. Instead, he started off with a "F_ck you, My D_ck is bigger than yours." Sorta thing that you'd expect on an M rated game. I send a simple "F_ck you" to others and I get 2 bans. Someone sends me "F_ck you, my d_ck is bigger than yours" and he does not receive a ban. Microsoft really doesn't know anything about enforcement.

Are you sure you are reporting the message?
I got banned for calling someone a **** before so all I do is report people when they send me a rage message and within a week I get a message from Xbox saying he's banned..

Thats what im going to do from now on.. If you get one ban does that mean the next one could be a longer time or does in not work like that?

My opnion on this varies. I see why they have it to keep the community in place but they need to be more leneant with it (For example, If a child is playing call of duty which is an 18+ game, They should know adults will play it and swear and whatnot due to being angry at the game)

I don't like communication bans unless the user was saying very awful things but i don't think you should ever be banned for sh*t talking to someone. btw i do like the report feature they do take action on people you report look here

I have reported so many people for cheating and trolling but MS has not taken any action. To think I got banned the second time for not saying anything makes me wonder.

That's how I feel. I've met lots of kids on GTA V and CoD talking trash. Even when they're not old enough to be playing this game. M rated games have swearing and I can't swear. Pure irony

Yeah I believe so. I remember reading that every time you get banned, the next one will be longer.
