So I want to overclock my CPU but whenever I run prime95 it hovers at about 82% cpu usage and at a speed of around 3.3GHz even tho I overclocked to 4.1ghz. can anyone help me out?

Sounds like your thermal throttling.

Check your CPU temperature with [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .

Dont use Prime 95 if your a starter overclocker! It will damage your CPU!

If you need help with overclocking, we are going need more details. Including rig specs, current overclock settings and the cooler you have.

I downloaded both, and ive been running aida64 for a bit and it says my max temp on my cpu is 32 C and I have a fx 6300 with a gigabyte ga 970a d3p motherboard
