Yes, I think when we grow up meaning of the games that I used to play I don't get excited over. Maybe when I buy the game first time ever. I play the game couple of hours into the game and I get bored. Not that much fun what it used to be.

I think mostly the case was that in that time period there wasnt that much of a choice back then for multiplayer games as far as consoles go. Meaning the majority of the players had a choice of only a few games to play online competitively for FPSs. Today there are tons and more people are spread out to their own games, which to me people are realizing they miss the days where everyone played one or two simple games to play against each other.

This is just my opinion. Nothing by facts or anything.

I have a feeling it has some to do with nostalgia, but also a major part where as the developers are now more interested in making money rather than making new fans to their game sequels.

I guess i'd say it was just exciting back then, a new concept, cod was so fun till we played the crap out of it. Maybe kids who play black ops 3 as their first would be obsessed with it.

I was just thinking about this, and I think its that the newer cods do not have the "fun aspect" as they used too

Nostalgia makes everything seem way better than it may have been, games aren't immune to this.

Probably a mix of both honestly. You grow up and your interests change.

I have heard countless times that "things will never be like Cod4 or halo 3."

I think there's a huge feeling of nostalgia surrounding gamers who make this claim. Sometimes I think it is the fact that these were the games that happened to come out right around the arrival of the xbox 360 so many more people got into gaming at the release of this system. Even more started to play online.

It may be bold to say but imagine BO3 being the black ops and it happened to come out in 2007 like Cod 4 did. Maybe that would be the game to beat in the minds of gamers.

Aside from the emerging interest in ripping players off for money, I think developers are moving in the right direction, gameplay wise. Technology will only improve which makes me wonder if these games that come out are actually that bad. It may just be that they are far-fetched from the core games we all played as Xbox Live and PSN took of in the mid 2000s.

Sadly, it may be a feeling we will never surpass because the old games will always have a spot in our minds and hearts as some of the most fun games ever.

Or maybe I'm wrong.

But this is a forum and I wanted to start a discussion

You said that perfectly my good friend, CoD4 is the best CoD since it was released. But if Bo3 was the CoD that came out i think that would be the game people are talking about years later. Good Stuff, i would love to see more topics like this
