Well to start off, I'm 18, 5'11 & now weigh 205 pounds. When I was 17 I was the same height weighing about 165. My son was born almost a year ago since. Ever since he was born I stopped almost caring about my looks. It really sucks, cause I'm not happy with my body anymore. I feel like video games could also be the part of that. I find myself spending way to much of my money on it, also takes up most of my time. I have a full time job, Ive tried selling my xbox on several different occasions. Always buy it a couple months later & lose more money. I have a car, a pretty decent house, a girlfriend. I know people have way more problems then me & I'm not looking for attention or any of that. Just maybe advice? I used to do Youtube & stopped when he was born as well. I mean that was my dream. Not sure if anyone has been threw this situation. Maybe one of you could give some serious advice. Thanks & sorry for the kind of depressing post lol. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

You're a young person, its understandable that you still "enjoy" video games but you also have to start taking consideration that you have a family now, your girlfriend and child. You should make a schedule or something for yourself, instead of spending time/money on games spend it doing other activites, going to the park with kid, gym with girlfriend, it might make you feel better about yourself/looks after sometime. As for youtube, if you really want to continue doing it you can get into vlogs? Dont know if thats something that you might want to do but it seems like those are pretty popular on youtube. I'm sorry if this wasn't exactly what you were asking/looking for.

ok look, that's kinda what growing up and parenthood does to you, sorry to say but 17 having a child is way too young, you just aren't ready and are still growing up yourself.

I am going through the same situation. I am 18, my daughter was born almost four months ago, and I stopped doing YouTube because I just do not have the means to do it. I sold my PC for a security deposit on my car. I have my own apartment, car, and now daughter. I am also engaged and getting married next year. I have a full time job. I am in a great position but I had to give up so much. I wish I could do YouTube still. I just cannot afford a new PC. All I can say is your kids come first.

My opinion is that it's important for you to love yourself as much as it is to love your son and girlfriend. I've been there; hating the way I look, and it sucks. And honestly, it's hard to love other people to the fullest extent when you don't love yourself.

If I were you I would try to make a habit out of going to the gym. You don't even have to really know what you're doing. If you leave and you feel like you've exercised, even if you don't see results immediately, it's a confidence booster. I always feel really good about my body after a good workout. Use that confidence to motivate yourself to change not only your body, but other parts of your life you aren't happy about.

I know that of course. But he's a great baby & is well taken care of. But believe it was not planned. But I'm sure you expected that.

Appreciate that. I know most of my weight gain is from bored eating & drinking anything but water. So I'm gonna probably go to the gym ASAP.
