Pish wrote You got it on WBW and is capable of 27Gbps if its the Gold one.
As Craig mentioned you only need something that can do 18+
So the Black series that Currys sell will do. Even though the box says suitable for 1.4, if you wanna be sure go for the Silver Series which is 21Gbps.

As for 4K.
BT Europe
Sky Q (soon)
Netflix
Amazon Prime
Youtube
Are all I can think of at the moment.

The TV will be upscale also, you have to remember your Virgin only comes through at 720

Buying a 4K TV and expecting instant 4K was daft, but also the Sales Person should have asked a few more questions.
Either way I would return the LG as its dump with motion rate.
i got there hdmi lead what was £50 from them and for virgin there sent me a new box what looks just the same as the last one and only dose show on 1080p anyway not 4k like there said the box will do and your right lg can go back i have a samsung 4k tv what is perfect for me and ill just buy on of them again for the bedroom

Reading that made my eyes bleed and my brain sizzle.

Pish hit it on the head, everything you watch from Virgin will be upscaled from 720p, and take it from me, that won't look anything even remotely like 4K.

Virgin don't currently offer any UHD service

some sources suggest that Virgin is in no hurry to launch a UHD service.

So they are not lying about anything. Youtube 4K will always look horrible, that stupid VP9 codec they use ruins any sort of nice quality in a video, so don't go by that at all.

If you want some nice samples for the TV, go here:

Also regarding your PC, whats the GPU in question? Does it support HDMI2.0?

Could I suggest possibly looking at the new Sony X83 range. Great tv's and have Andoid OS on them, the colour and motion rate is also better on them.

Dan- wrote Hate to break it to you but you clearly haven't done your research on 4K hardware. I Wouldnt say there is anything wrong with 4K other than it's just not ready yet as new 4K technologies develop over time e.g. HDR.

£100 on a HDMI cable is absurd and you are an idiot for paying that much in the first place although no surprise with the way this topic has been worded. For 4K you need a HDMI 2.0 cable.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] - Oh look, a HDMI 2.0 cable for 7 quid... was that so hard to find?

YouTube is shit for 4K thanks to Google's VP9 codec so I would stay away from that really.

As for Netflix... well, 1080p Blu-ray's look better than 4K streamed from Netflix and other streaming services.

As it stands, in the UK at least, there is hardly any mainstream 4K material to watch besides porn, fact, hence why I said 4K isn't ready yet... just another reason to why is isn't ready.

4K blu-rays aren't available in this country yet nor are the players and most 4K TV's that you see in shops aren't even HDR ready.

You don't believe in paying for movies, well good luck finding much 4K Movies or TV shows besides the shit ripped from Netflix and other services. Majority of the good stuff in 4K is on private trackers. However I'll leave you a little proof that very little 4K is available.

TL;DR If you're going to buy into 4K, at least do your research first.
i didn't need to do research when i all ready have a good 4k tv in my living room what dose the job perfect and have noting wrong with it. the 100 lead is just ott and it was 50 i have looked online and cant find anyway to download 4k movies and the tv will be going back and ill be buying a samsung as there is free stuff on there and its good

This is why I will never buy a 4K TV. Who would waste $100 on an HDMI cable.

4K is great. I have a 4k monitor and game on it every day. Its a brilliant investment. But would I suggest that a normal consumer goes out and buy one? No! Its just not ready for the general market yet. As the lads stated above, at the moment, there is next to no 4k content to watch and the ones that are, is just upscaled. Not sure about netflix though, not read into it as of yet. When 4k Blu-Ray hits the market, then 4k will be viable.

It looks like the OP got hitched in with the 4k hype. I dont think we should be blaming you. But now you know to do your research before making such a large purchase.

There is 4k content available, but you have to be part of a select group on certain sites to access it. There is streaming service called UltraFlix which just specializes in UHD content, they cost $5 per movie to rent, and they are as close to 4K as you'll get until the Blurays are a thing. 4K WEB-DL's have been a thing now for about 8-9 months and they are ripped from services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. The difference is minimal, but the difference is there.

But I'd agree with what you say though, 4K is not ready for consumers who want a TV just to watch, unlike me and you who want the best quality for everything

And fyi.... I went on youtube and searched "4k video" and i found a lot of videos that were fairly interesting.
