warframe is awesome but tons of grinding, if thats your thing I HIGHLY recommend it

team fortress is fun, an arcadey shooter

dota is also a super popular game, its not my type of game but check into it maybe youd like it.

heros and generals, a ww2 fps game. Heaps of fun I believe its still in early access but nevertheless a great game.

dirty bomb, another fps game its sort of arcadey but not entirely like Tf2. Still fun

planetside 2, another fps game this time set on a massive battlefield, much larger than battlefield. Super awesome game but I only recommned this if you have someone else to play with.

snow, snow is a skiing simulator if you want something to just relax to. Awesome game, love it,

Of course you also have a ton of MMO's if thats your thing, rift, tera, defiance, runescape, path of exlie, neverwinter. The list of MMO's is endless to be honest.

I know you said free but CSGO is awesome and really cheap. For a free game check out team fortress 2.
