I currently have the msi GTX 970 i was wondering would it be better to sell that and get 1 980 ?

Or buy another 970?

Two 970's!
All the way!

Sli 970's are pretty close to sli 980's and a much better price difference.

You're better off getting x2 GTX 970's rather than x1 GTX 980 and the reason being is you can SLI the 970's to get a better performance boost in the overall perfomance compared to the 980. Also, you could have seperate graphics cards for multiple monitors so you're not losing performance if you're gaming or doing high end programming.

Final verdict:
x2 GTX 970's

It depends on what you're doing. Some games don't use SLI well and other do.

I would defiantly go for the SLI 970's you will have almost the double of a single 980, specially when you game on triple monitors

If you think about it 2 gtx 970's cost the almost same price as 980ti so in my option 980ti is better choice.

The 980TI is highly over rated, personally I think one 970 would be more than adequate but if any, having 2 970s in SLi would be the best approach. Don't spend stupid money on a 980, let alone the 980TI. Rock the 970s SLI configuration. It's a powerful price to performance ratio to be reckon with.

Ye but not many games support SLI plus you will use less power and also it is possible that a person with SLI 970's can get micro stutters. It you plug your monitors to your 2nd card yes it won't affect that much performance.

Unless you game on multiple monitors or at a higher resolution than 1080p/1440p, then there isn't much need for more than a 970, 980 is a complete waste of money so I would say just stick with a single 970 or a 980 Ti if you need need that extra horsepower.

Sorry for no reply thanks for all the replies!

I will be mostly using for Assetto Corsa and DiRT with triple monitors

So i suppose 2x 970s will definitely be the best way to go!
