I just upgraded my computer from an i5 4460 to an i7 6700k. So far the CPU seems to be fine, but the new mobo that I got is giving me problems. I don't know if it is the drivers or what. The manual for the mobo says I can monitor my CPU temp and control my fans by downloading and using "F-Stream" but none of the downloads work, they all say that they are not meant for this platform.

I also don't know if it is my internet, but this computer is acting slower than my i5. I know in just browsing the internet and things a like, I shouldn't be seeing this big of a difference. Anyone have suggestions? The motherboard is the ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K4/D3 motherboard.

According to this my CPU temp is beautiful. My other motherboard had something called MSI Command Center, where as this new mobo doesn't. ASRock's equivalent is the F-Stream that doesn't work

Don't worry about ASRock's software, I am quite certain that your issue is due to not having an SSD, one would significantly increase the responsiveness of your PC.

I would get [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] SSD.

Once you get the SSD, you make a bootable USB and install Windows onto the SSD from there.

I would definitely keep those two programs, they are good tools for monitoring your computer's temps and specs and can also help when diagnosing issues.

Not having an SSD definitely isn't your issue. Your i7 wouldn't be slower than an i5 because you don't have an SSD. You should get an SSD, but that isn't the issue. If you're using DDR3 on Skylake, that could be causing issues. I'm not sure why you bought a new motherboard to get a slightly newer i7 and stick with the old RAM. You should've just kept your motherboard and upgraded to a Haswell Xeon/i7. If the internet is running slowly, that's most likely your connection, not your hardware.
