Syrian civilians rise up again Islamic State rule in city of Raqqa:

On Saturday, Syrian government officials reported that local civilians rose up against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Shams (ISIS) rule inside the provincial capital of the Al-Raqqa Governorate, resulting in the capture of 5 neighborhoods from the terrorist group.

The Syrian officials added that the people raised the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic over these districts; however, there is no footage to validate these claims.

Tensions between the foreign and Syrian ISIS fighters have reportedly caused friction inside of Raqqa City, with some local activists reporting sporadic clashes.

It is hard to verify any of these reports due to the absence of any media group inside ISIS controlled territory, but a few brave civilians living there attempt to post information, despite the harsh consequences that await them if caught by the terrorist group.

Currently the Syrian army, as well as the Kurdish militias are carrying out offensives to liberate the city from ISIS

ISIS retreats towards Raqqa as government forces widen Aleppo supply route

Over the past few days, ISIS defensive line in southeastern Aleppo has completely collapsed as government troops keep pushing towards Islamic State heartland in ar-Raqqah province. Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Armys 555th Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division captured the villages al-Hayat, al-Aala, and Al-Kabeerah from ISIS forces east of the strategic town of Khanasser.

Subsequently, the Islamic State now suffers from inadequate manpower in the region. Meanwhile, the 4th Mechanized Division has received reinforcements from elsewhere in the Aleppo governorate. Thus, a mismatch in avaliable soldiers explains why government troops are able to advance in southeastern Aleppo against little to none ISIS resistance.

However, the Islamic State has now set up a new defensive line east of Jabboul Lake. By doing so, ISIS commanders intend to prevent the Syrian Arab Army from capturing Deir Hader, Tabqa Airbase and Jirah Airbase. If the aforementioned sites are lost to government forces, ISIS will be expelled from northern Syria and will be forced to set up a desperate last stance at ar-Raqqah city itself.

Ar-Raqqah is the self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State and as such, its loss will prove an intolerable blow to the moral of ISIS fighters across the Middle East.

Russian airforce pounds ISIS in west Palmyra: 30+ airstrikes

The Russian Air Force is pulverizing the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in the western countryside of Palmyra (Tadmur), targeting the mentioned terrorist groups positions inside the villages of Al-Dawa, Wadi Al-Dhakara, and Wadi Al-Abyad

According to a senior officer from the Syrian Air Defense, the Russian Air Force conducted over 30 airstrikes on ISIS positions in west Palmyra on Friday, destroying several armored vehicles and killing a large number of terrorists in the process.

The Russian airstrikes are weakening ISIS defenses around Palmyra, which will ultimately help the Syrian Armed Forces in the long run as they prepare to launch the major assault on the city in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Russian airstrikes have forced Al Nusra (Al Qaeda in Syria) to abandon the village of Abu Al-Dhuhour.

The Russian Air Force harassed Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and their allies everyday inside the village of Abu Al-Dhuhour in the Idlib Governorate.

As a result, the mentioned terrorist group has finally abandoned their headquarters at Abu Al-Dhuhour in order to evade the constant airstrikes from the Russian Air Force.

The latest Russian airstrike over Abu Al-Dhuhour killed well over 25 Jabhat Al-Nusra members, while also destroying their large weapons depot inside the village; this prompted them to seek refuge elsewhere.

Syrian army is conducting a large-scale operation to liberate Palmyra - Russian military

All conditions are in place to surround and defeat Islamic State (IS, former ISIS/ISIL) in Palmyra, Syria, Sergey Rudskoy, chief of the main operations department of the Russian General Staff, told reporters.

"Everything necessary has been provided for the encirclement and definitive defeat of IS armed groups in Palmyra, Rudskoy said, adding that the Syrian Army had already taken control over all dominant heights and major roads around the city. The terrorists logistical support has also been cut off.

The Syrian army, Hezbollah and allied Iraqi/Iranian fighters, backed by the Russian Air Force, are conducting a large-scale operation to liberate the city.

The Russian Air Force make an average of 20-25 sorties per day lending support to the operation aimed at liberating Palmyra, the spokesman said, stressing that Russia will continue to carry out airstrikes targeting IS and Al Nusra Front in Syria.

Last week, Syrian government forces and peoples militia groups backed by Russian airstrikes managed to come close to the city. On Thursday, they reportedly entered the Palmyra museum complex.

Syrian armed forces enter Islamic State held Palmyra

Syrian government forces have entered the ancient town of Palmyra seized by Islamic State (IS) militants last year, state TV has said.

Observers say troops have advanced into a hotel district south-west of the city, a Unesco World Heritage site.

Officials launched an offensive to retake the city earlier this month, backed by Russian air strikes.

The city is situated in a strategically important area between Damascus and the contested eastern city of Deir al Zour.

State media showed warplanes flying overhead, helicopters firing missiles, and soldiers and armoured vehicles approaching Palmyra.

The UK-based monitoring group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said forces advanced into the hotel district and reached the start of a residential area but were moving slowly because of mines planted by IS, AFP news agency reported.

Recapturing Palmyra would be a significant victory for the government and Russia, which withdrew most of its forces last week after a six-month air campaign against opponents of President Bashar al-Assad that turned the tide of the five-year civil war in his favour.

But honestly I'm American and let me tell you America should stop putting their noses in stuff that shouldn't concern them the Middle East will never be in peace they have been in conflicts for more than 100 years I think they should be left alone. I hate how America tries to control everything! It's not our war to fight like yeah I believe ISIS should die down but it won't they keep growing and growing even if they do fall it will just create another terrorist group that's what happens all the time!

Syrian army liberates Palmyra from Islamic State forces

Syrian government forces have re-captured the ancient city of Palmyra from so-called Islamic State (IS), say state media and a monitoring group.

The Syrian army had been gaining ground for several days, supported by Russian air strikes. Military sources say the army now has "full control".

IS seized the Unesco World Heritage site and modern town in May 2015.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitoring group, said there was still gunfire in the eastern part of the city, but the bulk of the IS force had pulled out and retreated further east.

IS fighters have probably retreated to their stronghold Raqqa in eastern Syria, our analyst says.

You don't win wars by letting the enemies do their own thing and hope they die out.
