Clone it or reinstall it. Google is your friend for cloning but can present problems after so you would be better off back stuff up then re-installing Windows 10 on the SSD.

I've only found videos on migrating my 1TB's data to my new SSD, which poses a problem for me as I only want my OS on the SSD.

You would need to partition the drive with the partition being just about lower than the SSD capacity but to save yourself the hassel, I would re-install it it's faster and easier.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

On that page, click download tool. Open tool and create a ISO for USB. put the contents of the ISO on to the root of a clean USB stick and install Windows from that.

I'm not sure whether this issue still exists, but when I did a clean install of windows 10 i couldn't use my windows 7 key to activate it. I know Microsoft had released an update which enabled users to use windows 7 keys but they revoked it due to multiple bugs.

If the computer has already had Windows 10 installed on it from a upgrade in which case OP's has then a clean install of Windows 10 on the same machine won't even need a serial key to activate as it has been activated before already.
