what is it for and is it safe to update my RGH like you would do to a normal Xbox

There is not a new dashboard update.. make sure you are on the correct dash 1000000% if you are,
Check if your avatars are appearing after booting uP, if they are grey proceed with the update if they are not,
DO NOT accept the update and flash a new KV.
