Locked i7, the 6700k isn't worth the money as a 5820k is the same price and you pay a small amount more on a motherboard for 50% more cores;

If you wanted to get an unlocked CPU for overclocking, I would go for X99;

Bear in mind that playing at 1080p would be a bit of a waste with such high end components, 1440p or 4k is more suited to a rig of this level.

This is a good build, but for those games and streaming, you will never get anywhere close to usingthe power that this build offers. Do yourself a favor and lower the budget to save some money.

Any i5 4xxxk build would do nicely.

X99 is over $100 more expensive than Skylake. Sure, the 5820k is only $30 more than the 6700k, but the motherboard cost on top of that is an extra $80 or so over a Z170 motherboard. So, the 6700k definitely makes sense in certain rigs. There's also the fact that the 6700k is better than the 5820k in anything that won't utilise all 6 cores, or 12 threads that the 5820k has. The 6700k isn't even that over-priced anymore, the 4790k was around the same price at release as the 6700k is now.

OP- What peeripherals are you using? A $2k budget is fairly large, and if you're using sub par peripherals right now, I'd recommend using some of your $2k budget to upgrade them. Also, if you're using a 1080p monitor, you don't need anything more than a single GTX 970. You could get a 980Ti within budget, but it wouldn't make sense unless you were playing at 1440p at least, IMO.
