I am a College student who does a lot of work at college as well as home, I also do a lot of travelling. Would a Google Chromebook be a good investment? I dont really need a fully fledged desktop experience and 1) Ive already got a PC 2) All I will be doing is writing work documents, emails, YouTube and Spotify. Also I would like to use this as a iPad replacement.

Chromebooks were made for your needs, one would be a great replacement for any tablet IMO, the ease of use is awesome!

I use a lenovo chromebook n21, it's got 16gb of flash memory, 4gb ddr3 and a celeron processor.
It's an extremely quick laptop and its got all the word processing utilities on chrome so I can't complain. There can be some limitations to what you can do with it but a lot of them have work arounds.

But for a generic college students who will be watching youtube videos, netflix and creating word docx then I would really recommend one.

The storage can be a bit low so I'd recommend getting an external hdd or 128gb mmc card
