Well, I think "Soul" is a type of food for one. The kind you're thinking of is nonexistent in my mind. I think we get buried/cremated or whatever else we decide to do with our remains and that's it man.

I have toyed with thoughts of reincarnation before though.

I never really think about this but at the end of the day, reality is what happens. If you jump off a cliff, no God will save you and you will die. I've also read about/talked to people that have died and been revived and they all said it was like sleeping and there was just darkness and nothing.

You [as in any proponent of the view that a soul exists] need to prove that the soul exists before you can say whether or not it will carry on after death.

If you get hit in the head you get knocked out.
If you get a tumor you start to lose cognitive function.
If you become brain dead you go into a coma.

Every single aspect of our experience of reality is registered and made possible by the existence and continuation of our brains.
So if you die, your brain dies - and your ability to perceive anything dies with it.

It will be just like it was before you were born.

I've said it before but I find this to be a much more beautiful outcome than experiencing for eternity.
It makes your time on Earth much more precious.

I personally believe that death is similar to how it was before you lived. You just don't exist, except now you have left your footprint on earth

This topic hurts my brain . I think when you are dead you wont go to heaven or hell , you stay in your body just lying with no function . Just living in darkness. My question is when you are dead what would you see and feel? As you always have to exist and feel something because you can't just disappear and feel nothing . Brb gotta fix my brain

Surely , you would have to be something? Or at least feel something just not as physical as life? Because you can't just die then stop existing , you will have to be something . You need to prove that we even have souls before you can ask what happens to them. If you mean your mind then your mind is directly tied to the existence of your brain. If your brain is dead and destroyed then why would your mind continue to exist?

But when we die and our brain dies , how do we know we aren't still there? I don't want to be thinking too supernatural so I'm thinking we die and our brain is dead so nothing works in our body however we are still in our body just not able to do anything, it's the only possibility unless you believe on reincarnation , God etc. For example our eyes stop working but we see nothing just darkness as our eyes dont work . just like if your legs don't work , they are still there but they just don't work or function so maybe it's the same for our brain ? When it's dead it doesn't work but we still see darkness and nothing . Surely?
