Let me go over this. When an accident happens, be it tragic or not, we try to look for the silver lining. Sure he hit a deer, we try to look past that and think thank god he's ok. If a pane crashes, sure we know X amount of people died, but we try to focus on the X amount of people that lived.

Continuous, do you live in the country, or the city? If you're a city person I wouldn't expect you to understand how deer accidents happen, but out here in the country at any time, day or night they dart out because they are scared as they don't know what your car is. They want to get across the road way and get as far from there as possible. Generally speaking, you never see the deer before it's too late.

What happens when you do hit and kill a deer? You are supposed to take it, unless it's out of hunting season, you don't have a license / tag, or it's the wrong type. For example if I hit a deer and it was a mule doe, I couldn't keep it as they are protected where I live. Ok, so what happens when I hit the deer, but I either don't want it, it's out of season, or it's the wrong type? You are supposed to call the department of fish and wildlife (DFW), and explain to them you hit a deer and it's not the right type, out of season, or otherwise you can't take it. They are then supposed to come out and take the deer. What happens if you don't have the DFW number? I have been told, though I don't know if it's true, that if you tell the tow truck driver (if your car needs to be towed of course), they are supposed to call DFW and tell them to dispose of the deer. Again, not sure if that's true or not, but it makes sense. What do the DFW do with the deer? They check it to make sure you didn't shoot it, and then if it's not too late they will gut it, skin it, process it, and give it to a local food bank if they accept meats. If there are none around, I don't know what they do, I'd assume eat it themselves, but I'm not sure. If DFW doesn't get called or doesn't make it out to the scene and the deer just sits there, you made a coyotes night. You still fed a scavenger.

If you hit a deer, it's not the end of the world, you need to look at the silver lining. Best case scenario is that you are ok, and actually fed a few families. We can't control them jumping out, and usually when we do, we can't see them until it's too late.

Why I'm making this thread? Well back in December I had an accident, I hit a deer coming back home in the middle of the night. Fortunately not a whole lot of damage was done to my vehicle, I received a quote a month ago and was told I should look at Maaco for paint services. After being told this I was kind of on the fence about wanting to get a new paint job or not. I've looked up reviews online but wanted to see what you guys thought about Maaco. I know the price is what will make the quality and all that. But is it worth the money getting a whole new paint job for my car?

You hit a f***ing deer and your worried about your vehicle? You need to rethink your life.

The whole point about this post was if I should go to Maaco or not. Not about me hitting a deer. In North Carolina it is a regular thing for a deer to wonder out in the street at night. The deer actually made it out okay causing roughly little "paint damage to my car."

Back on topic, none of you answered the question or gave advice on the topic at hand. If you have an opinion. Answer the question first and then give your opinion after.

A few people gave you answers, it's up to you to read their experiences and decide for your self.

My friends dad manages a Maaco in colorado! Everyone loves maaco there because he takes pride in his work and makes sure his employees do too. Just depends on the shop, but that is with any business.

Appreciate the feedback man, I've checked on a few shops in my area and they have great reviews on them also. Think I've made up my mind on what I'll be doing.
