Wot wrotesame here my very first consoleA sad, sad day March 31st, 2016 is for gaming. 16 years ago, the PlayStation 2 released world wide. It was a revolutionary console that set Sony on a path of gaming greatness that they maintain to this very day.
While the original PlayStation came first, its undeniable that the PlayStation 2s success is the driving force behind the brand today. The PlayStation 2 is the highest selling console with over 155 million units sold. The second best selling console is the original PlayStation, marking over 102 million units.
In comparison, the original Xbox, released only one year after the PS2, has sold only 24 million units. Thats just how huge of an impact the PS2 has had on gaming throughout the turn of the century.
The reason for this article is that today, Final Fantasy XIs servers are officially shutting down on the legendary console. This marks the last online functionality for the PS2, which is unfortunately the send off of an era.
The PlayStation 2s iconic start up screen will forever be cemented in our memories. It truly was the console of gamings revolution that propelled the industry into what its become today, and impacted an entire generation.
I don't know about you, but Ps2 was what started me off on gaming. I got it when I was 5. I'm 18 now, and I still have mine to this day. RIP PS2

My PS2 is chipped I have over 100 games for it
I still have my PS1 too I think that's also chipped, It makes me sad knowing that PS2 is dead now plus FFXI was the game that got me into Final Fantasy.
