I agree with everyone about it taking a few days to a week to get used to it.
BTW to help with the pain take some ibuprofen or tylenol and get yourself a small tube of orajel.
With orajel just put a small amount on your finger and rub it on your gums where it hurts and it will numb the applied area for roughly 30 mins, everywhere it comes in contact with will get numb very quick(only inside you're mouth that is).

Also, if the wires are to long on the ends throw a ball of wax into it so you're not cutting and scarring the crap out of your cheeks..

One time after I got home from a tightening session the wire shifted a bit making almost a centimeter or wire coming out one end and it was so unbearable, wax wasn't helping, so I grabbed wire clippers and clipped it myself lol

Hope this helped a bit, nobody else said anything about Orajel yet.

When a I got mine put on they didn't hurt too much, it's getting them tightened that hurts.

Usually lasted me 2 or 3 days.

That numbing stuff sounds like it would help a bunch jees wish i knew about that!

As for the wires, WOW. The back of mouth was ALWAYS ripped to shreds, the wax they give you is virtually pointless hahaha.

yeet wrote So I got braces on Tuesday and my mouth hurts so much. Does anyone know when this pain will stop and when I will be able to eat properly again?

You have braces for a reason for the to work so you probably be in pain for a while. Put car oil around your braces son fix your problem. Let me search your problem to see what the dental surgeon can do...
