just attempted a comfort trade with a trading account obviously, and got told it was "too new"
Just wondering where I can pick up 2-300k

No matter where you buy coins you need to unlock the transfer market on the web app. So you should do that, and then go to any reliable site. The site is use is [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] Aslo since you have to unlock the market by playing for about 2 days and 40 ish games I can sell you an account that is already unlocked. I just use eBay to buy my coins when i used too.
