I have had my PC for about a year and a half now and noticed that the Idle temps have been rising and rising, The other day i cleaned it all out but the Idle temps still aren't great. I also need to re-apply the thermal paste on the CPU so i thought i may as well just get a good cooler while i'm at it. Idle CPU temps are around 40 - 50C, my GPU temps are also around 50C while Idle but that may be to the fact i have 3 monitors running off it. Any suggestions on what cooler i should get? also thermal paste suggestions would be nice.

In terms of thermal paste, I've always used Arctic Silver 5 for my computers and consoles. It's cheap and does the job well. Now regarding the cooler, do you want to stick with air cooling, or move to liquid cooling? Personally, I use liquid cooling and get idle temperatures of around 15C, and have only hit 34C once under heavy load. I'd suggest liquid cooling with a Corsair H100i GTX if you've got the space / funds.

Kinda depends on your budget.
A good budget cooler is a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.
But if you post your budget on a cooler and your currency, then it would help a lot.

Even though you wont be overclocking but you want a cooler, you might as well get a decent one that performs well and looks good and if you do go down the route of overclocking in the future then you already have a cooler for the job.

Either one of them two will do fine, both nice looking coolers and perform well.
For thermal paste, get yourself some Arctic MX-4 or Noctua NT-H1

Thermal paste makes minimal difference. The majority of coolers come with pre-applied paste anyway that will do the job. Don't get an AIO, that'd be pointless and a waste of money, considering you have a locked CPU. 212 EVO is bad, m'kay, there are better/cheaper coolers. I wouldn't spend anything more than £40-£50 since you're not going to be overclocking, you just want something a little nicer, quieter, and cooler. A nice little budget air cooler would more than do the job. The Phanteks cooler above would be nice, you can get a Cryorig H7 for like £25 or something these days, which would be perfect IMHO, as long as it matches your aesthetic preference.
