5 million and you've made it. Still invest to gain profit e.g. A business or shares

About 100 Million. 1 Million dollars can go quick if you really put the math into it because you will be tempted to buy everything. Even 20. 100 Million with interest is enough to last for generations.

I think just a couple million would be good enough, buy a house, 200k, then just live off of that.

It would probably be upwards of $15,000,000 if I lived a normal and somewhat frugal lifestyle.
Even if you bought your house in cash, the property tax and bills is going to end up being more than you could imagine.

I don't need a fancy car, or a big house. That's not what matters. It's about being happy. Settling down with the right things.

For me. I'd be happy with
a small loan of $1 million

Cal_Memphis wrote 1 million dollars, due to banks giving you interest you can actually live off of the interest without ever touching the 1 million dollars. (If you get 1% a month you'd be making a 120k salary without having to work, and generally most banks offer a 2.5% interest if your bank account holds over 100k)

You have to pay capital gains tax which would be about 60%

I had 230k in a saving account from investment's and the tax took me to about 72.5% of capital gains...

5-10M I would say for sure, I would continue to work or something, I don't obviously have a plan but I'd invest in stuff to keep revenue coming from that and I would buy a house, car nothing fancy but fully pay them out-right, and the only bills I would be paying is the normal house ones + phone + insurance.
