So i like to be goalkeeper before this i just like keeping ball out from goals but after my hand got sprain when i was playing with my bro i just stop being goalkeeper and play as striker

My question is how do you overcome this? Everytime i try to be a goalkeeper i just dont have the courage to save the ball anymore

You've lost your mojo mate, Just wait for your hand to heal up first before you start saving any penalties, you'll probably find it a lot easier, start playing against people who won't blast the ball at you

I'd wait until your hand is pain free from your sprain and get back at it.

Get someone take shots at you but softly and accurately until you get more confident and then up the power.

Take slow steps, dont want be injuring that hand again

This happened to my sprained my wrist, went up front and started bagging goals for fun! Now I play for a serious team Up front so I guess it happened for the best!

But for you just practice or take it easy! Get a friend to go with you do some simple drills get him/her to not pass but firmly pass the ball to your hands in the air or wherever and gradually get harder and more advanced drills. Just don't rush take your time you'll be fine just don't give up

I say you might have lost your feeling for that position, if not then just go out there and act like that ball is your life line

Thanks for the answers just play yesterday with my friend and manage to dive and parry a ball few times... But my grip though is still bad and still have the feeling of fear to catch it sometimes

You just have to gain confidence back, I broke my leg and it is still weaker than my right leg now and it has been 4 years. But you can still tell the difference! Just have to grow a pair and get on with it

hey man first off all i would start practising by yourself i started diving by throwing a ball off a wall at an angle then catching it it sounds stuppid but helps lots because you control the angle the speed the ball is played at. Then i would start training with a friend i would try to dive on both sides so you dont get too used to not being able to dive one sided as well when you feel ok with diving try highdiving and make sure to land your head on your arm to prevent bad head injures when i was younger about 7 i would go down to a field really close to my house and just play try to enjoy it more than anything i gave up for awhile and i regret it i am nowhere as good as i was 2 years ago its tough to be a goalkeeper as if you mess up it will most likely end up in a goal for the opposite team if you need anymore advice pm me
