Anyone know how good this pc build is / any alternatives? I am trying to build a pc for gaming (in general), and for recording gameplays / editing footage. Any feedback would be awesome ^-^

This is what I would get;

Welp. It's over budget, and doesn't even include the cost of the motherboard. Old SSDs? The newer 850-PRO is $90 cheaper for the 512GB model. It literally makes zero sense to pay almost $100 more for an older SSD. Also, there's the fact that the 850-PRO isn't worth the premium over the 850-EVO, and you can get a 500GB 850-EVO for $150. 5930k is not worth the premium over a 5820k unless you're doing 3, or 4-way SLI. SLI 980s are terrible. SLI 970s would be $400 cheaper for almost the exact same performance, but a 980Ti would be a far better option. SLI 980s cost as much as a Titan X, and will only perform slightly better than a 980Ti, which would be $300+ cheaper. That HDD is a ridiculous price to pay, not even remotely worth it. Absolutely no need for a $300 PSU. Paying £200 for your OS is just stupid. Also, $100 optical drive? You're trolling, right?

Literally half the price of what you were originally looking at, and it will perform almost identically. Not a good choice for a rig at all, just an example.

Get the 5820K and save $200 for the same thing.
Buy this PC and you will be golden, [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . I'm not an expert in monitors, but I have the BenQ XL2720Z and I love it.

You guys are awesome!

Sanctorum, NoSx1000, and Zayev, u guys had great advice, and idk if I can thank you guys enough. Seriously.

I have made some adjustments to my build and it came out to be $700 less.

I do have 1 more question. How would I determine the best cost efficient cooler and motherboard for my build?

Here is my modified build: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Thanks again guys!

The X61 is good, but no need to pay that much for a motherboard. You don't need a 1200W PSU, at all. 850W is more than enough for a 5820k and two 980Ti's, all overclocked. I wouldn't get that case. You're over-paying for RAM. I personally wouldn't spend the $150 premium for a 980Ti with an AIO but if you want to, go for it.

My suggestion, but I'd also get a Samsung 950 Pro with this as the boot SSD.

Sanctorum,

You think I should get the 950 Pro, 850 EVO, and the HDD?

I noticed that the form factor of the 950 Pro is an M.2-2280. Will that be ok?

Not Sanctorum, but you should. 950 Pro for the OS and all the programs, 850 EVO for the editing footage and the HDD for all general storage. And yes, that is ok. As long as the motherboard is compatible with m.2 SSD's, you're good to go.

Also, if I were you, I would go for a higher quality case.

Do you really need 32GB? If you're doing things like bitcoin mining and hardcore shit, I could understand, but 16GB is plenty for 99% of what anybody does on a hardcore gaming rig and a workstation. However, I do understand RAM has dropped in price tremendously, so 32GB for $120 is great, and more future proof.
I would get a EVGA 980ti, because of the higher clock rate and more room for overclocking. More max overclocking headroom, go for a 850W PSU Fully Modular and 80+ Gold.
For storage, if you have the money, try 2 Intel 500 series SSDs. They are almost top of the line, next to Intel's 700 series. Though, if you just want an SSD and you're not too concerned about the speed, because SSDs are super fast anyways, try shopping for SAMSUNG SSDs.

I would get the SM951 over the 950 pro, cheaper and a bit faster too, may not look as pretty but you can't really see them anyway.
