When the Fine Bros done goofed and everyone wanted to protest them by unsubbing they literally only lost maybe 10-25% of their subs, as everyone on the internet hated them not much really happened, they are stilling living well with a wealthy subscriber base, and now after the whole Leafyishere drama and he barely lost any subscribers if anything he has gained those subs back and more. Is it even possible to bring down a YouTube giant other than the owner dying or the channel being terminated by YouTube? Are those big channels guaranteed to always have massive profits at the end of the day?

I was primarily talking about Youtube Giants that literally do bad things and are getting away with it.

The videos made by the youtuber is making the company so much money through the traffic that it sees everyday, they would be idiots if they just removed that channel and lost that much profit.

Was talking about the community killing the channel.

I was making a statement to where youtube would not take down/terminate a channel just because of the community. The community of course can make a channel quit/stop producing content, but youtube won't remove the videos or the channel. So no, from the community standpoint, there isn't a way to "terminate" a youtube channel.

Didn't really say YouTube would take the channel down for no reason, I was using it as if a channel would to get strikes or break the rules. As one way the channel would not be alive.

I can see what you are saying, and it's probably right.
I would like to believe that if a Youtuber did something massively wrong, like committed murder, then their channel would lose the majority of its subscribers.
But I think that it would attract more of the 'morbidly-curious' crowd to it which would offset the losses.

Of course, none of this would matter to the Youtuber because they would be in prison, but still.

I think 'Too big to fail' does apply to Youtube, in terms of subscribers choosing to leave a channel, rather than being forced to.

I think that what makes huge youtubers so indestructible is the way youtube spotlights them over smaller channels, once you get momentum you never stop kind of thing, which is pretty annoying knowing a 10 year old making nerf videos is making more money then a full middle class household a year, and is constantly making slightly more money everyday eventually becoming a millionaire.
