I'm a person who can laugh at almost anything. No matter how offensive it may be to some people. I enjoy dark humor.

But nowadays, people try to pass off suicide, 9/11, racism as dark humor/satire. I'm not one to get offended by a lot of things and it's not about that. It's the fact that it's repetitive and unfunny most of the time

Where's the punch line in randomly telling someone to "kys" or calling someone the n word?
People are trying too hard to be edgy and it comes out annoying.
If you're gonna joke about these topics, make it into an actual joke. Instead of randomly blurting out [edgy topic here].

KYS is just an insult not a joke. And you say people try to pass off "uicide, 9/11, racism as dark humor/satire." but then you say that it can be as long as its a good joke. I think your a bit off the mark. Do you not like them because they are bad jokes, offensive or trying too hard to be edgy?

I am a pretty firm believer in that comedy has no boundaries. Obviously there is a time and place for everything.

Yeah I see what you're on about I agree with you. The language is getting old and it's going to die out sometime soon. "Get Cancer", "Go Kill Yourself", "You're aids" I just laugh becuase they sound pathetic and it's not funny people in the world actually got Cancer, Aids and whatnot. The KYS,Aids came from the COD Community that's where I've heard it myself becuase I'm in that community sad enough. To be far I think this isn't going to go away which is frightening becuase younger people are joining the COD Community every year and people say "Go Kill Yourself", "You're Aids" and then it's going to passed onto their generation and so on...

I replaced KYS with DYS which is a abbreviation of Die Your Self, it is much cleaner and respectful.

I guess trying too hard to be edgy/bad jokes. I wouldn't even classify them as jokes. To give an example, "Hahaha 9/11" "Dude, you're a n*****" "Kill yourself"
This is what I meant by people randomly blurting this out.

If it were a well constructed joke based around these topics, then I would laugh if it made me. And I obviously agree with you about comedy not having boundaries, but quality still plays a part.

Humor is a way for people to deal with things. If the person says something as a humor factor, who gives a **** if someone else gets offended by it? People care too much about what everyone else is doing nowadays.

Comedy is and always will be there, and risky jokes are funny too. Laugh dammit.
