So I don't intend to game on both of them because the bezels would be so annoying. What I was planning to do is to use one monitor for gaming and the other monitor for browsing, watching gameplay tutorials etc. Could I have performance issues if I was to do this?

with 980 you shouldn't have no problems. It's a powerful card. Even with 4 monitors it should be more than fine.

The question of monitors isn't a matter of size of the screen. Screen size means nothing. 4k 10 inches... 1080 35' (Most cinemas). It's all really boiled down to one question... What resolution and graphical setting do you wish to play at? 1080 at high or 1440 at low on two? A monitor doesn't do much other than allow you color display, resolution, detail, and refresh rate. I highly doubt you'd be able to run 2 4k monitors, but two normal 1080s more than likely low or medium settings with some highs.

It will max almost everything. 980 is a great card. He's only playing on one screen. Hes not getting a 4K but It could play 4K fine and 1080p no problem.
