Exactly. But at the end of the day if you want a gun badly enough, you'll find a way to get one.

I wouldn't be surprised if the sixteen-year old was the one who did the shootings.
Yeah but the thing that annoys me is all these Americans who cant admit they have one of the worst gun problems in the world.

You're officially the most confusing person I have ever met, politically speaking.
Hows that? i just dont agree with the gun laws in the US and im 100% sure that if they were modified the crime rate and unnecessary so called "self defence" shootings would go down, the crime rate would still be there due to as said above if someone wants a gun they will get one and that goes for every country but in my opinion the US does not have enough restrictions on guns.

We have the strictest gun laws here in California, yet we have one of the highest crime rates in the country, including murder with firerarms.

So you have the most populated state in America and you're surprised when you have one of the highest crime rates?

Your gun laws aren't even slightly strict. You can't even purchased a handgun in the UK, all you can purchase are sporting rifles and shotguns and it's very hard to get one.

No I'm not surprised. I'm surprised liberals can't see that and notice that all these laws don't help anyone.

After doing some research on the UK's gun laws, I can tell you now, it's easier to get a gun there, than here in California.

It doesn't matter if it's "easier". We're restricted on the majority of weapons that you aren't.

Not to mention, we have one of the lowest crime rates in the world.

I'm not from America, but can you not just buy a gun from one state and bring it into another? Guns laws in different states would serve no purpose then.

You're not that much more restricted, even less I'd say. Considering you don't have a waiting period like we do. We can just own handguns over 21, just like you can. Anything over a clip of 10 is banned here as well.

The UK doesn't even make the top 20 of lowest crime rates in the word.

And yes, but that would be against the law. Another reason these gun laws are pointless.

There is a bad surge of crime relating to knives in the UK, stabbings have gone up in the past five years. When are you going to outlaw knives?

Firstly, we're literally not allowed handguns at all, except a few exceptions such as airguns and antique guns. So i have no idea where you're getting that info from.

Secondly, don't even be that silly, some countries have populations 1/100 of the size of the UK so they're obviously going to have a far smaller crime rate but for it's size, the UK has virtually no gun crime.

And knives aren't that big of a deal, a knife is nowhere near as powerful as a gun and knives can be bought anywhere so long as you're over eighteen. If people want to use knives, they can.

Lastly, I live in Northern Ireland and it literally has one of the most laid back gun laws around. You can have rifles and pistols with no magazine limit and very few people are killed in gun attacks. And not to mention, Ireland has the seventh lowest crime rate in the world.

Having had my identity stolen by my aunt and uncle when they weren't in prison, I have so many hoops to jump through to purchase a firearm. Federal and State background checks swear up and down that I have a record, but I don't. I have to go through both background checks, then appear in-front of a judge explaining why I want to purchase a firearm, show them court documents that prove that I have absolutely NO criminal record, I then go through another background check with the state under the judges approval.

I have to do that during each firearm purchase. This OP wasn't meant to be an argument about the US firearms laws. It was simply informing what has happened.

I'm someone who could careless if my guns were taken away. I've had guns seized while I was hunting. Doesn't mean you can't go out and buy one again.
