Hello TheTechGame,
Our names are ShooterxChick (Lauren) and Stelter (Tufan). We're here today because we'd like to share our story with you and to ask you for your help to make our dream come true. Our story is a love story, and it's one that began here on TTG almost 4 1/2 years ago. It is quite long so please bear with us. There will be a short version of our story at the end of our post in a spoiler, so if you'd rather just read the short version please scroll all the way down to the end of the post.
Like I said our story started about 4 1/2 years ago here on TTG. One day, by chance, two of us met in the shoutbox. It was Stelter and me, ShooterxChick. I said hi to him back then and we just started chatting casually. We both seemed to like each other so we exchanged our messenger details and started talking a lot more regularly on AIM, Skype, Xbox and of course here on TTG. We started to spend a lot of time together online, whether it be playing Xbox together or just chatting. Eventually we started going on Skype a lot more and we saw each other face to face every day (over the computer, of course).
It may sound silly to some of you, but we fell in love. We've known each other for a few months at this point, spent a lot of time together just chatting, talking or playing games together. We knew a lot about each other and it just felt like we were meant to be together. Everything was great and it all felt right, but there was one big problem.
I live in the United States and Stelter lives in Germany.
That didn't stop us from starting an online relationship. We knew there will be huge hurdles in our way. That didn't scare us off because we just always felt so good when we spent time together. But as each day went on, it was harder for us to always stay happy and confident that it will work out for us.
After about 8 months of talking, we decided that we should try and meet up for the first time ever so Stelter could come to my Senior High School Prom. We were both around 18 at that time we didn't have much money and had to rely on the help of our families to support our plans.
It was hard for us and weird as well. Imagine Stelter having to explain his parents that he'd love to fly across the ocean to meet a girl and their family to go to prom together? And imagine me having to explain to my parents that I'd like to invite a German guy I've met online to stay with us for about 2 weeks to go to prom with him?
It was difficult for both of us at first. Stelter had to stay with us because the money he had wouldn't be enough to afford to a stay at a hotel or even a motel on top of all the travel expenses connected to a flight from Germany to the US. Luckily, after we both have talked to our parents and explained our situation they were both okay with it. Stelter had to talk to my parents for a little so they could see what kind of guy he is. They seemed to like him so he was allowed to stay with us for the 2 weeks.
It was honestly the greatest time of our lives. After so many months of just talking and being on Skype, we were able to do things we've been wanting to do for MONTHS. Even the most simple things like holding hands or getting a kiss from the other person. Sounds cheesy and pretty lame, right? Well it wasn't for us.
Here is a picture of us on prom day:
The trip was planned to last for about 2 weeks. Everything was great. We had a ton of fun and have grown extremely close. But sadly, everything in life comes to an end and so did this first trip... Or so we thought.
A few days before Stelter had to leave to go back to Germany, my parents had a private conversation with him. They asked him if he'd be able to stay for another 2 weeks if they would cover the fee to change the date of the plane ticket back home. It was my High School graduation present. My parents told me that they couldn't have thought of a better graduation present for me as they've never seen me happier in my life. And it was true, for both of us. We have never been happier as we were in these 4 weeks.
But these 2 weeks flew by so quick again. It was then time to say good bye for real this time. It was extremely difficult for all of us. Stelter really isn't the one to cry a lot and neither are my dad and my brother. But as he had to leave our house to head to the airport, I've seen all 3 cry together and hugged like they've always been a big family. Just a month ago they were complete strangers and now all of us had tears in their eyes when it was time for Stelter to leave.
Fast forward a few months, we really wanted to see each other again. Stelter used all the money he had saved up back then (he was just fresh out of High School so it wasn't much) and asked his parents again for support. Our families are not very rich and usually don't ever have extra money for anyone to fly across the ocean. But with both of our families support, we managed to spend another month together. It was just as great as before and we knew we were meant to be together.
This all was about 3 1/2 years ago. We've seen each other between then and now, but it's just so expensive to keep up what we've been doing without any help. I've always been working when I'm not at college and Stelter has also been making money to support our relationship.
In July of 2015, Stelter was with me in the US again and planned to propose to me! I had no idea! For my birthday which is also in July, I received a weekend trip with Stelter to go to an aquarium and to have a personal encounter with penguins (I love penguins by the way). I was very excited and was totally focused on the penguins. It was a group of 10 or so people. When the whole thing was over, every took pictures with the penguin. For some reason (unknown to me back then) we were last to take pictures with the penguin. Everyone was already gone and they just started talking to us about penguins. Being totally oblivious to what was going on around me, I didn't notice Stelter pulling out something out of his pocket. The caretaker of the penguin started talking about how penguins only have one partner their entire life and that's when Stelter tapped me on the shoulder, took my hands and started saying his proposal speech.
I was the happiest person ever and I didn't expect this! I knew it would happen eventually, but not right there and then. Being up close with my favorite non-domestic animal was already a highlight, but his proposal is what made the whole trip perfect. OF COURSE I SAID YES!!!
(Stelter side note: I had to dress totally normal like I would for a visit at the aquarium. If I wore nice clothes it would have been totally obvious and I didn't ant that at all. I wanted it to be a huge surprise.)
That means we're getting married!!! We still can't believe how it all started on TTG and now we're actually getting married.
This is super exciting. But this is also the exact reason why we're here to ask you for help. As we've mentioned earlier in this post, Stelter is from Germany and I live in the US. That means he can't just move here whenever he'd like to, even if we are married. There is a very long and very costly process to allow Stelter to live and stay with me in the United States.
The process for engaged people is called the K-1 Fianc(e) Visa process. It allowed a foreign citizen (non US citizen, in our case Stelter) to travel to the USA and to get married to the US petitioner (in this case me, ShooterxChick).
The whole process costs about 1,750$-2,000$ USD WITHOUT any travel expenses. Here is a little breakdown to give you an idea how that cost is so quickly accumulated.
What the list doesn't include are all the expenses that come up when someone moves across the ocean along with an estimated 3 months where Stelter is unable to work and earn money in the US (this is because that's how long it currently takes to obtain a work authorization. And this is why we need your help.
The most expenses will happen when he is ready to make the move. Plane tickets, additional fees for documents, bringing all his belongings to the US and getting settled at home (new furniture, clothes, just everyday things that everyone usually has unless you are moving across the ocean).
The whole process from start to finish will be somewhere between $3,000 and $4,000.
We've set up a gofundme page our families, friends and of course you, the members of TTG are able to help us out if you can.
As a love story that began here on TTG over 4 years ago, we wanted to ask this website and its amazing members for one more favor and that is to help us make our dream come true.
ShooterxChick's and Stelter's gofundme link: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Please make sure you're not putting yourself in a tight situation if you decide to help us out and donate. ANY donation is highly appreciated, no matter how small or how big it may be. TTG has already given us the gift of love and we do not expect anything more from anyone. But by donating you would take A LOT of pressure off of our shoulders.
We've decided to set the donation goal at $1,500, which is just about the amount we'd need to cover the visa processing fees.
We have already started the visa process and here is proof that this is legitimately happening. Every donation that we receive will go 100% towards the costs that come with Stelter moving to the United States. None of the money will go towards silly entertainment or fun for us. We will post updates here and on gofundme about everything that happens so people can stay up to date if they'd like to.
Proof can be found here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
It shows our first names and our date of births if there are any people who doubt us. It's understandable that you can't trust every story you read on the internet and that's why we decided to upload proof.
Note: I'm aware that the third document shows an expiry date that has passes. But that date has been extended so so don't worry about the document not being legit.
Thank you SO MUCH if you donate. Even if you don't, your moral support is also very much appreciated. If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to ask! We will answer each and every question you guys might have for us. Whether it be relationship advice, personal questions or anything else we will reply to everyone who asks something.
And as promised, here is a short version of our story:

And as promised, here is a short version of our story:
I (ShooterxChick) and Stelter have met here on TTG in the shoutbox about 4 1/2 years ago. We've spend a lot of time together, fell in love and then started an online relationship. The problem is that I live in the US and Stelter lives in Germany.
We started an online relationship over skype and Xbox and wanted to meet each other soon after. We asked our families for financial support and their blessing so Stelter could stay with me for 2 weeks in the US so we can go to prom together. He came here and we had the best time of our lives.
Eventually Stelter had to go home and we were extremely sad. It was financially very hard to keep up all the trips between the US and Germany. We somehow managed to do it for over 4 years.
In the summer of 2015, Stelter proposed to me and I said yes! We are now engaged and want to get married. The problem is however that this whole process is extremely costly to have Stelter move from Germany to the United States.
The whole process from the very start to the very end will cost about $3,000 to $4,000. That's why we wanted to ask TTG for help and set up a gofundme page for us. Please don't donate if that means you'd put yourself in a tight situation. We appreciate any kind if support, whether it be financial or moral support.

We've set the goal to $1,500 to help us cover almost all of the visa fees that come with the move from Germany to the US. We don't expect to hit the goal, but we will greatly appreciate any kind of donation you might able to give us.

Thank you so much for reading and considering to help us out! No matter what or how you contribute to us, whether it be a donation or post wishing us the best. It's highly appreciated.
TTG has always been great to us and we feel honored to be given the opportunity to be helped from the community here. Like I said, truly appreciate any kind of help you guys might have to offer.
If you have any questions about us, what exactly the money will be used for or in general any questions about our relationship, feel free to ask and we get back to you. There won't be a question we won't answer.
Thank you SO MUCH TTG!

Needless to say you two are one of a kind. The story of you two really is heart-warming and should give hope to everyone else out there that hasn't found their special someone yet. I know I have helped you two out in the past and always said I would be around to help if you needed it, it may not be much but I hope you two can enjoy my donation to the cause!
Stelter, you have been an amazing friend these past few months with all the shit I have gone through and I just want to say thank you for that. It is a true honour to get to call you my friend!
Shooter, we haven't spoken in a long time but I know you too are an amazing person and I hope you two smash the goal you have set!
