Only accounts that have a year or more tenure and currently have gold can claim the recently reset gamertags, the ones you are looking at either haven't been reset yet or it isn't an original Xbox account meaning it won't be reset. Just because it has 0 gamer score and no friends doesn't mean it was going to be reset.

New accounts can get the names aswell. That 1 year thing was a lie

The logic is that the official announcement stated that you need at least 1 year tenure and an active gold subscription, if silvers are able to get them Xbox clearly messed up or lied...go read the TTG news article on this or find the announcement elsewhere as that is what is says

is anyone else having trouble getting a gamertag that is not taken....there is a gamertag i have been trying to get and i friend requested it last night and then this morning it was changed making it available to the public. I even friend requested it again and it says its not taken but when i try to change to it it says it is.

There is a tag I have been looking at as well, says it cannot be found but when trying to view it on my xbox it goes to a random preset tag so...
