There is no verses as they are pretty much equal and each console has good things ,but like stated nothing which sets them apart.
Get what you prefer.

I broke my Xbox One out of anger so I purchased a PS4 and I love it.

I love both consoles but they have their ups and downs.
XBOX ONE:
Pros:
Easy to use
Good exclusives
Cheap
Amazing controller
External hard drive compatible
Compatible with Windows
Lots of customizations
Cons:
Can barely maintain 900p at 30fps
Lots of advertising
Higher cost of premium(gold) membership
Less discounts on better rated games
More discounts on very unpopular games
Not just focused on gaming, rather, it's focused on TV and family activities.
Do not seem to listen to what the fans want
Slow connections
PS4
Pros:
Very little- none advertising
VERY Smooth software
Very easy to connect to other players (in game)
Innovative
Very simple software to use and get use to
Amazing exclusives
Much less enforcement actions taken on players
Cheaper online membership
4K PS4 coming out eventually(unlike what Xbox has announced)
Cons:
Very little customizations (for free)
Not compatible with external hard drives
2.5 inch internal hard drive
Less servers
Both are good consoles , however, it's all about preference!
MY OPINION
If you want more of a gaming console, go with the ps4
If you want more non gaming features, more customizations and don't mind advertisements on your system, go with Xbox.
I'm not biased in any way, I have both systems
Hope this helped!
