i didnt want to stay in school anymore, i choose to go to college to do something i really wanted to do and i was also treated like an adult. Its all personal preference, i say go for it but i know my girlfriend went to college and disliked it. just do some research about your course ect and make a final decision

BobMarIey wrote I go to college and I would say its worth it. Personally I find a lot of reward in academia and on top of that it keeps me sharp being in a constant intelligent environment. In addition opportunities for employment, though many people criticize it, are far greater with a degree than without, depending on what you want to do. That's honestly a huge factor. I want to go to a grad school so it's essential for me. I think education is a fundamental must, through college, but at the same time I understand not everyone can go/afford/want to go. I would say evaluate what you want with you life, or at least a general direction and you should be able to know if it's worth it. Honestly it is a very subjective question, to some it's worth it, to others it's not. For me, like I said, college is amazing and I would never exchange this experience, but it could be different for you. I'm very pro-college, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters in what you want to do and if college will give you an opportunity to excel in that area and expand your horizons.

Very, very well said. I could not have said it better my self. I am very pro-college myself. I feel that in today's day and age it is very difficult to get ahead WITHOUT a college education, because there are so many other people "competing" so to speak, against you.

In my opinion I was never really a school person (I don't know why I'm saying like I'm out of high school) I have one more year left of school and I'm anxious and also can't wait to get out.

I believe that in some people's lives college could be extremely worth it, and in others manual labor is the best option for them.

I wouldn't go in fine arts. I don't know the industry too well so don't go based off what I say too much. What I do know is that not many artists make it big, and when they do it's after they die. I personally think you're throwing your money away when going to college to do it.

In something like fine arts you don't NEED to have a college education. You can learn on your own and hope your name takes off. Something like being a rocket space engineer you need a degree for. You don't learn that on your own lol.

At the end of the day I would say if it's something your passionate about, try it out. Again I wouldn't go to college because I don't think it's needed as you are building your name in the art industry, you're not building a resume to go work for a firm. Start making what ever you make, try to sell them and try to take off. Just make sure you know when to cut your losses though. If it doesn't work out, don't keep trying to make it work, just move on.

It does depend, I like the atmosphere and the continuity of learning, I went for half a term in the program I was enlisted in until I realized it wasn't what I wanted. But depends if you can find a job without it or not.

It really all depends on what you're studying. If you're studying engineering yes, science degrees yes, and mathematics then yes. If you're studying something you don't really need a degree for just a good portfolio then I'd say no and then invest the money that you'd spend on college on yourself. You'll learn more in the real world than you ever will learn from a professor.
Honestly though a fine arts degree isn't in demand during this current job market, but if its something you're passionate about I say stick with it for years and years and eventually you'll find the success you're looking for.
