Looking back on it now, I genuinely think I was too harsh on IW for ghosts after seeing IW anyone else think so?

Not really - they haven't produced a solid game since Modern Warfare 3, and it seems as if everyone is against their newest title before gameplay has been released.

I personally think that Ghosts was alright.
It evened the playing field a lot....
Tryhards were unable to sweat as massively as they could.
It had a different feel, for the first time in 6 years.
It was going to make a statement.
Now all of their " we redid the movements "
Are slightly BS. They do change SOME fundamentals, but not much.
Ghosts was the first where, they essentially started from the ground up. They had hosting done in a completely different way ( depended a lot more on YOUR connection, rather than the Host )
I haven't played IW yet, but I kinda have my hopes slightly up.
They've made good CoDs
They haven't made a game since Ghosts, and that was their most ambitious game yet, where they started from the ground up, essentially

I really enjoyed Ghosts. I thought it was balanced and made for the average COD gamer. The way COD is going now worries me because not everybody likes the movement system. It is a little tricky to get the hang of which might steer people away from the new game. Hopefully we see a boots on the ground COD in the near future.
