How much RAM do you have? If you are looking into DDR4, AM3+ doesn't support DDR4 making an upgrade to RAM basically useless. (Unless you have less than 8GB)

You will not need to upgrade your mobo in order to add an SSD in.

That's not how it works, at all. The wattage of your PSU is next to irrelevant, it's the quality that matters. You absolutely do not need a 750W PSU for an R9 390. a 450-500W PSU would be perfectly fine for an R9 390 full system. That being said, the R9 390 makes absolutely zero sense right now, it doesn't make sense to buy any GPU right now.

No, because that's not possible. You're limited to an AM3+ motherboard since you have an AM3+ CPU. If you want DDR4 support, your choices are X99(Haswell-E or Broadwell-E), or LGA1151(Skylake) which means you need a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU.

On the site it says the graphics card requires a minimum of 750..

If I got a new Mobo I would get a new processor as well. Basically just a whole new computer. And I'm sitting on 8gb ram right now, nothing high end tho. But I like to run servers and do a lot of multi tasking and I can notice a difference from this to my laptop with 16gb but I'm sure other factors come into play as well.

I guess a better question is should I save for a whole new setup, or upgrade what I have?

The site says 750w that's why I said it. If I had a budget I would've put it and I want to upgrade simply to have a better computer. If I had a specific reason I would've said it. And if my CPU isn't compatible with the upgrades I want then I'd get a new CPU as well.

And saying there's no point in buying a GPU right now is not helpful at all considering that's the main thing I'm trying to upgrade..

But what he is trying to tell you, that there is new GPU's coming out very soon. So unless you want to get an old card, go right ahead. Or if you want to actually get something that's worth it, wait a few days and get a 1070 or wait a few weeks and get the Rx 480.

Clearly it's not the "main thing" you're trying to upgrade if your title is "Should I get a new motherboard?". Regardless, I don't care what "the main thing" you're upgrading is. If you want to go ahead and waste $300 by buying an illogical GPU, go ahead and do it.
