SELU wrote At least he didn't do something illegal unlike Hillary. The emails and Benghazi should have ended her corrupt and unworthy political career.
Also, How do you expect to get information out of terrorist? Just keep asking them? lol no.
Well, he kind of did with that fraud Trump University thing, but I guess we will ignore that. Anyway, I'm not a Clinton supporter either. She can be indicted for all I care.
Considering torture does not work and is actually counterproductive (and illegal), trying something else would be nice. You may not get information, but that is better than getting false information.

Last bit of this video at about 1:40.
You can interpret that a number of ways, that can go back to the whole torture idea, you see what he says as a bad thing because you're not seeing the full clip. This is just a chop off the whole story, go find the whole story. I watched this same thing on the news and basically he's looking past the fact that it's killing innocent lives and he's looking at how to torture someone who doesn't value their lives. That's what that conversation was about.
Also keep in mind something like that will never happen. The military is supposed to refuse the order to kill innocent people. I say supposed to because sometimes it does happen, however I doubt that we would go in targeting family members or the ISIS group.
He specifically states it right there in the clip. "You have to take out their families" when they are having a discussion about collateral damage. How does that relate to torture in any way?
I'm not principally against the killing of innocent people. But I'm only for it in the most dire situations. The only situation at the moment the that I would feel the killing of innocents is justified is if a jihadist regime got their hands on nuclear weapons. Then a nuclear first strike might be appropriate. But to say that the family members of ISIS need to be killed to beat them is wrong. It's demonstrably wrong because killing innocent people only makes the surrounding population hate the west more. Extremism has increased hugely since the start of the war on terror.
He is not a thoughtful man when it comes to this issue. He thinks brutality is going to work and it is not. It makes the US just as bad as the terrorists and it increases support for the islamist cause at the best and the jihadist cause at the worst.
SELU, stop deflecting things over to a discussion about Hillary Clinton. We know she is a bad person. This discussion is about Trump.

"They say they don't care about their lives, you have to take out their families". He will go on to talk about torture and how you can't torture someone who doesn't value their own lives. Again, you need to listen to the full story.
I'm not defending him, but people are just taking clips out of headlines to make him sound like a bad guy, and although I don't agree with some of his views, he's not out to nuke the world like people want you to believe.
The thing about trump is, he's like most of us in that he is not "politically correct". He sees what we're doing isn't working against ISIS so he's recommending doing something different.

You're acting like killing their family members is an acceptable form of psychological torture.
Would raping their family members be an acceptable form of torture? You are trying to avoid the point that he is saying we should kill innocent people to torture their ISIS family members and are only seeing it as 'he's just discussing the ethics of torture.'
He is talking about killing innocent people to torture their family members. Address that.

I'm not saying it's right, but what you're insinuating is that he wants to go over there just to kill the family members of ISIS members when that's not the case. That was about how to torture someone who doesn't value lives, not how you fight the war.
