I loved the first one, the initial release date was August 4 2017, but sadly the sequel does not have a release date. It has been a nightmare for finding the right director/ writer for the movie. Guillermo del Toro wants to do it but Warner Bros and Legendary just cannot agree to make the movie because of how much it cost to produce. The first one costed around $200M to produce and it only made $400M while it was in theaters. With those numbers they dont see any reason to make another with the chance that it may bomb because it cost so much to make.

This is reassuring though, with there being talks that it was canceled forever.

If the funding does happen, i'll be at the release
the first was great, quite possibly the second could match!

I didn't see the first one in theaters, but i would definitely go see the second one in theaters. I personally think the movie was underrated for an action movie. The plot was pretty good as far as action movies go, but the fight scenes and graphics were awesome.
