Platforms: Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Playstation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Nintendo DS, and Mobile Phone.
Release Date: August 12, 2008
Genre: Sports
Modes: Single-Player and Multiplayer
Synopsis
Madden NFL 09 is the 20th annual instalment in the Madden NFL video game franchise. It was also the last video game for the Xbox produced and released in North America and the last Madden game released for the Nintendo DS. The Collector's Edition of Madden NFL 09 includes the NFL Head Coach of 2009, an alternative case, an exclusive version of John Madden Football 1993 with updated teams and rosters and bonus video content and clips. Unlike previous versions, the game was not released for the PC. A Sports has said that they are "retooling the PC version" after not making 09. Despite these claims of 'retooling', PC users were again ignored the following year as no Windows version of Madden NFL 10 were released. In June 2009, EA Sports announced that for the year 2010, the Madden NFL, NCAA Football, NASCAR, NHL, NBA Live, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour series would not be shipped for Microsoft Windows. The Wii version of the game is titled Madden NFL 09 All-Play and was launched under EA Sports' new All-Play brand exclusive to the platform, taking a slightly different approach to the game and taking advantage of the motion controls.
Gameplay
The gameplay is pretty great for this early Madden NFL game. It is about average on gameplay and it is available for almost every platform in existance. The graphics for this game are quite on average also, they are just like any older game. This game may not be perfect but it is an enjoyable game to play when you have nothing to do! The gameplay has been taken to an highly new level with more than 85 new features and enhancements, including the all new Virtual Trainer tutorial mode. Utilizing a holographic environment, this mode teaches people simple concepts about playing football and how to use the controls in quick, fun and stylized drills.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer is pretty simple and is much like other madden games. You can edit/ create rosters and play online against different opponents. You also can either play offline or online multiplayer, which ever you choose. On online, you can play against many different opponents with a huge variety of teams to choose from, You will not be disappointed in the multiplayer for this game.
Graphics
The graphics are actually pretty amazing considering how old the game is. I think the overall graphics of this game are on point, the texture isn't as good as like Madden NFL 25 or anything but it is a great game. You will more than likely get addicted to this game if you are into Football.

Controls
The controls are pretty basic and are just like the previous maddens. I have put all the controls in the URL below, in case you have never played madden and are unfamiliar with the game. For example: you press A to snap the ball, RB to fake snap, Y to hurdle, and you press LT to pitch the ball.

Great game and one of the Maddens I always use to play with some buddies.
Your review slacks so much on detail and player interaction. For a game in 2009, may not seem like a lot of detail can be acquired but I see a child's book literature in this review. You show no affection within the review like its rather typed from stuff you have seen off Wikipedia or some random review on the game.
What a Madden review should somewhat look-like. https://www.thetechgame.com/Forums/p=40147647.html#40147647

Totally agree with the point, it feels like some of these older reviews are terrible, they lack basic details and just look out of place in comparison with newer ones where more time has been taken to construct a thorough and detailed review of the game.
He also seems to contradict himself? Saying first the graphics are average and then later gushing over them, seems like he wasn't familiar with the game when writing the review.
