GTX 1080 doesn't really make sense. A GTX 1070 would be more than enough for 1440p, but I don't think an upgrade would make sense since your R9 390 is still a perfectly capable card. Maybe grab a Xeon E3-1231 V3 to replace your i5, and some more storage.

So if I get the Xeon E3-1231 and some more storage and keep everything else the same, I'll be able to play games like Battlefield 1 on high settings?
