tbh I, myself, would take the resort.. mostly cause I like staying in one place lol..
I've stayed at 2 resorts in mexico.. and they're beautiful.

It's all fun and games until the ship sinks. I'd go with the resort.

Probably a resort to relax and drink, but either would be good probably.

Resort would be nice. I get really bad sea sickness.

When your on a cruise you are limited to what you can do although there is a lot to do. When i went on it it was really fun like from football to rock climbing to ice skating. Although this depends what ship you embark on as there a many with difference within the same name for example 'Royal Carribean'.
When your on a resort you get to relax more rather than it being when you dock up you get off the ship and only get too see the place for a day etc. You have all your time to spend looking around the specific place you visit but also get too relax and chill out whilst you're there. If you went on a complex as well where theres stuff to do on a night unless you like going out etc drinking.
All in all a cruise is much dearer when on board etc as on a resort you could probably just go to the nearest shop if you needed anything which would be quite cheap although the experience of a cruise is amazing.
Atm, I prefer Resorts however i did enjoy when my family used to go on cruises together.
