Tech giant Microsoft said Monday that it had reached a deal to acquire professional social networking site LinkedIn for $26.2 billion in cash.

The deal values LinkedIn at $196 per share, representing a 49.5% premium over Friday's closing price.

The companies said their respective boards had unanimously approved the deal. LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner will keep the title and report to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Never used LinkIn before, I don't think I ever will but that is a huge amount of profit just for a business. It;s crazy how far LinkIn has come through out of the years. Crazy stuff and good stuff on them.

I had a LinkedIn profile when I had a desk job. Not too sure if I have one still. This is a great business deal.

can you "bankrupt?"

what if they don't sell as much consoles as they planned to? with Sony dropping Neo, more of the buyers may go to Sony including the partnership with COD

This is the third useless post I've seen from you in an hour. If you're going to post something relevant to the post, do it.

@OP. I think them buying it is definitely a smart idea, especially what they're trying to do in the future with Outlook

Also think it was a smart idea to let it remain as its own entity under the name of LinkedIn instead of trying to rebrand it as a Microsoft owned entity.
