I just want to know everyone's thoughts on DayZ now since the game has been in Alpha for 3 god forsaken years.
I believe DayZ is just a lost cause now. It's just ridiculous that the game is still even in Alpha version, and they raised the price. They dont even bring many updates to the game anymore. H1Z1 has no doubt become the better zombies game, and it hasn't been out as long. I used to love DayZ, and I have hours upon hours on it but its just not good anymore. This is just my opinions.

I'm sure I read it's supposed to be out of alpha by 2018 but I doubt that considering the way things are going although who knows what's going on behind the scenes. In my opinion, Bohemia games aren't really well optimised, even the Arma series is a little dodgy but the multiplayer/mods make up for it. Although they are using their own custom game engine and game engines take years to improve on and it's a lot of hard work. For example, rust is playable because they used a third party game engine which has already been optimised and capable of handling AAA games.
Instead of announcing and releasing an alpha version of dayZ I personally think they would of been better off waiting a lot longer, providing they had the funds.

.60 was pushed a few weeks ago and I personally think it has lightened up the game spirit again, hopefully it is out of Alpha by late 2017 or early 2018 like they have stated.

Confirming that the new 0.6 update has really improved the game, especially in terms of performance!
It made me feel inspired to start a new series on it:
