No offense to anybody either, not that any of you are wrong or anything.
He's 14.

He isn't going to be able to make 200-400$ to throw one thing at a time into his PC

Should keep the box, when time comes, save up a little, spend 500 on a rig without selling your xbox, see how you like entry level gaming, and go on from there whether or not to sell your one to get more parts.

Edit:
Your PC you have already isn't even that bad. Aside from Intel Shit Graphics, you're lookin crispy. If that's not integrated I'd totes sell your one and buy a new Gcard that around 300$

Will definitely need to upgrade Power Supply (PSU) to around 750. Get a decent graphic card. maybe a GTX 960 4gb, or the New 480 that is coming out. Probably should upgrade your case as well. Go to PCPARTPICKER dot Com, and put all the parts that youre keeping in the slots, then when you go to pick another part itll tell you what parts are compatible. But please, if you get a GPU and call it quits, make sure you upgrade you PSU.

TTG-DDoS wrote Don't listen to any of these guys.

You're going to spend nearly 300-400$ alone on a GPU that can run most next gen games.

Ironic that he isn't meant to listen to us, but then you go on to immediately spew absolute shit. $300-$400 on a GPU? You're talking balls. RX 470 will be around $150, and will be perfectly fine for AAA titles at 1080p.

TTG-DDoS wrote DO NOT sink any money into a rig unless you have a stable job and can save up to purchase more parts.

Wrong. He has a PC. Upgrading isn't "sinking" money in to it. You don't need a stable job to have a PC, at all, that's a ludicrous claim.

TTG-DDoS wrote PROMISE you a 500$ rig is shit.
500$ Will get you a maxed out xbox 360 in a PC.
Meaning youd be able to max most 360 games (SSAO, Anti Aliasing all the way up, etc)

Talking shit again. Regardless, he's not building a $500 PC. He can easily get $450 for a GPU, case, and PSU upgrade which would be more than enough. He could get an RX 480 easily, which is VR capable, bit better than XB360. I could build a $300 rig right now that would out-perform an XB1 easily.

TTG-DDoS wrote Next gen, or newer games however.
The shaders and textures they use (Fallout 4 for example) will run you 300$ is for a GPU to run it on lowest, and that's only the GPU.

Again, absolute bullshit. A $100 GPU would run Fallout 4 at high settings.

TTG-DDoS wrote I'd stay where you're at.
PC gaming is an expensive an at times un-fulfilling hobby.
Hard to have the best when every week something new blows your old specs out of the water.

PC gaming isn't expensive at all. You spend what you can, and want to, and that's it. He doesn't need "the best" and there isn't something to beat it every week, that's not at all how it works. Even if it was, consoles would get out-dated as well, and then you need to buy a whole new console, instead of just upgrading a PC, which would be cheaper.

TTG-DDoS wrote He's 14.

Irrelevant. I built a PC when I was 12. Also, he has a PC anyway. All he needs is an upgrade, which he can easily do within his budget.

TTG-DDoS wrote He isn't going to be able to make 200-400$ to throw one thing at a time into his PC

If you actually read what OP is saying, you;d know that he does in fact have $200-$400, and he doesn't need to put that all in to one component. $400 is more than enough for a GPU, PSU, case, and a nice SSD.

TTG-DDoS wrote Should keep the box, when time comes, save up a little, spend 500 on a rig without selling your xbox, see how you like entry level gaming, and go on from there whether or not to sell your one to get more parts.

So PC gaming is too expensive, but now you're telling him to waste money? GG.

I have absolutely no idea why you payed no attention to what I said?

This would be a downgrade. FX-6300 is poorer than your current i5. PSU is not good. Case isn't very good. Buying another HDD and RAM makes no sense, since you already have that. As I said, PSU upgrade is not necessary now, and AM3+ definitely doesn't make sense. R7 370 isn't a good choice, it's over-priced. The RX 470 will be a good lower end GPU when it releases, but you can afford an RX 480 which releases tomorrow.

Get this;

You can get the 240GB version of the SSD if you needed to save some money. You could get a cheaper case, Cooler Master N200 would be a good option. You could also save about $15 but on the PSU, but for $65, that Capstone is a steal, it's Gold rated and semi-modular.

From what I have seen over the past year on the PC building forum Sanctorum wouldn't suggest anything that is shit and if he thinks your build is shit he will tell you it's shit. I have a $300 card and I can run fallout 4 at high settings maybe sacrificing a few frames but nothing below 50. Sounds like you had a bad time.

Well, NVidia GTX 1000 series GPUs have just started to release, and we'll see the rest of them filling in within the next year, and I guess the RX 490 should be coming soon, unless it's Vega. There's really no need to save more, as I suggested, RX 480 with case, PSU and a nice big SSD within your budget easily. RX 480 will be more than enough to max everything at 1080p, and the NVidia competition will be the GTX 1060, or maybe a 1060Ti, neither of which are even confirmed to be real yet so there's no telling when they will release, if at all, or if they'll even be worth it. Also, with the NVidia 70 series GPU being $450 this time around, instead of about $300, there's a good chance the lower end cards will be priced ridiculously high.

If you want to wait until September, go ahead. I'd personally go with the RX 480, 480GB SSD, Capstone 550W and then a nice case. Then, you can save whatever cash you get and put it towards a nice new CPU, mobo, and RAM and you'll have a kick ass system.

His budget would build a shit rig. Hands down.
Idk why you're trying to convert this kid to something that's going to make him wish he never sold his one.

Purchasing cheap parts, and building a low budget rig with parts that are under 150$ a piece, is going to land you with limited support.

500$ down on a processor and a GPU is worth the wait.

Build a shitty little 360,

Told ya, his choice to get skull ****.

Cheers
