Does anyone collect coins

If so do you think the price of a very good condition £1 coin or £5 note will be worth much more in the future as the new versions are coming out soon?

I highly doubt coins in current circulation will be worth anything even in mint condition.

I collect US coins and currency. I don't do it in hopes that I'll strike it rich some day because that rarely happens unless you have a coin that was produced in limited numbers and still in mint condition. I just like the history, I've got a couple steel pennies, silver quarters, etc.

If you're curious about value, I know in the US they make mint books telling the value of a coin in any given year in different conditions.
