It has only been 4 years since Bolton Wanderers were a recognised Premier League football club, yet even in such a short space of time so very much had gone so very wrong with the club. A total and complete mis-management of the club almost ensured that the doors of the former Reebok stadium would be closed for good. From relegations to unpaid loans and overdue tax bills the once proud club having now also been relegated to league one (their lowest league position in over 20 years) is on its knees.

However they always say its always darkest before the dawn and just when it appeared the club was going to be buried for ever a consortium led by former player Dean Holdsworth came to their rescue. After MUCH deliberation the consortium purchased the football club and agree a deal to ensure the loan payments and overdue tax were dealt with, however it was too late to save their championship status and thus were relegated at the end of the 2014-15 season.

In the process of the purchase of the club and its relegation the new consortium and manager Neil Lennon decided that a fresh start was needed for the club and the Northern Irishman left the now Macron stadium hotseat. Now the new owners and the Bolton board have appointed me to pick this sleeping giant up after many years sleeping.

Wakey-Wakey Wanderers!
