Just seeking the personal thoughts of those who have purchased and thoroughly tested AMDs new rx 480 gpu and looking to see if it is actually worth purchasing at the current time. Id like to wait for the custom gpus to come out but id like to know how the reference models stand for i am running on a low end gpu at this time for my Titan x was stolen from my rig after a computer meet/LAN party a few weeks past. watched countless videos but id like to get the opinion of my fellow TTG users.

Have not tried them but suggest you go on YT and look the the video on ScienceStudio's channel. I know you said personal but his review is pretty good!

I would wait for the Nvidia 1060 to be released on the 19th July and then compare the reviews from that to the RX 480 as they are basically the same price, the 1060 is supposed to be faster than the 980 and only use 120 watts.

I am currently waiting for the 1060 to be released and reviewed then I will be getting one or the other.

An aftermarket 1060 would be very wise.
