I was wondering which should I save up for, a new elgato HD 60s or a new gaming pc.

A pc is worth more and you could get a free recording software

It really depends, what is your budget for the gaming pc? if you only have like 200$ you won't be able to get much of a gaming pc but then it goes the other way because you have to have decent specs to record gameplay with the elgato hd60s

I second this ^

There are ways to get a free version of an operating system if you search around which can save you some money.

Also with the new AMD and Nvidia graphic cards coming out the old ones will be cheaper meaning you could possibly pick up a cheap GTX 960/970 or an AMD based card. (ask in PC building section)
